Maintenance Manager

Our client, an airline in Central Africa is looking for a Maintenance Manager to join their management team.

The suitable candidate should possess the following role traits;

1). He/she should be a Management Engineer, a graduate engineer in aeronautical engineering fields who has aviation training but does not necessarily need to have the aircraft maintenance technician ratings to supervise work on the aircraft. Necessary maintenance ratings would be an added advantage;

2). The Maintenance Manager should be able to be accepted by CAA to manage the Maintenance Department and particularly to manage the CAMO as the CAM (Continuing Airworthiness Manager) since the primary task of an AOC holder who is outsourcing maintenance is to provide the Continuing airworthiness data to the outsourced AMO and control and supervise the output;

3). He/she should have the knowledge and skills to control and supervise CAMO duties and responsibilities performed by the contracted CAMO and AMO;

4). He/she should have the knowledge and skills to prepare and review the Aircraft Maintenance Programs, review and analyze the AD and SB embodiment requirement of the fleet company;

5). He/she should have the knowledge and skills to prepare and review customized MEL;

6). He/she should have the knowledge and skills to prepare, produce and edit CAME (Continuing Airworthiness Management Exposition); MOE (Maintenance Organization Exposition) and/or MCM (Maintenance Control Manual) which make part of the AOC acquisition process;

7).   He/she should be conversant with the manufacturers maintenance documents, including interpretation of Maintenance Planning Data (MPD), Structural Repair Manuals in case of preparing and producing patch repairs drawings for accident aircraft on ground;

8). He/she should have knowledge and skills of preparing engineering orders or at least the knowledge and ability to interpret them.

Main Working Relationships

  • Reporting to the Managing Director;
  • Supervision of: All Company/Airline Engineering and Maintenance Staff through the established structures;
  • Functional relationships with: Senior Managers;
  • External Relationships: Civil Aviation Authorities, Industry Regulators, Maintenance Organizations (MROs), Other Airlines and relevant original manufacturing organizations.

Qualifications

  • At least 6years experience in aircraft maintenance and engineering management;
  • Relevant Engineering Advanced Degree/Degree/Diploma and aircraft maintenance engineering background;
  • Aircraft maintenance Engineer’s License/Approvals in Airframe and Engines or Avionics;
  • Must be computer literate and understand aircraft computer maintenance record keeping systems;
  • The potential candidate must be acceptable to the Authority.
